Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Consistently diving into multiple internal data streams to cultivate a deep understanding of current market performance, shifts and trends.
  2. Leveraging external data sources and sets—including government data/reports, public company filings and analyst coverage—to better illuminate the market ecosystem.
  3. Regular connections with subject matter experts—both inside the company and within the travel industry—for validation and triangulation of market analyses, forecasts and models.

Educational and Skills Requirements:

  • You are not just unfazed—but are energized—by “submerging” in data for long stretches to explore dependencies, correlation and causation
  • Ability to constantly triangulate internal and external data plus intelligence gleaned from subject matter experts to independently identify market patterns, forecast trends and develop business models
  • Capacity to process multiple projects and analyses at the same time (or conversely, you are not limited by a need to focus on only a few projects at a time in order to avoid being overwhelmed by data)
  • Able to flourish in a dynamic environment and embrace an agile mindset (as opposed to waterfall)
  • Proactive orientation; can intuit what unasked questions need answering; don’t need to be told what to do
  • Can quickly pick up and learn technical platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive in reaching out to others and developing business relationships; do not need to have connections made for you
  • Can quickly process and produce analyses without increasing potential for errors
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, complexity and uncertainty; understand there’s no such thing as perfect data
  • Strong orientation toward collaboration with others; no intrinsic need to show how smart or brilliant you are
  • Naturally curious and self-motivated to learn, grow and develop through action/execution; excited to share insights; because of your deep understanding, you’re not afraid of not being perfect
  • Innovation – Forward thinking, curious, & creative
  • Marketplace Awareness – Current business trend knowledge
  • Advanced Analytical Skills – Ability to collect and analyze complex information, problem solve, and make decisions
  • Collaboration – Strong skills in inspiring the win-win-win
  • Self-Starter - Ability to work independently
