B2B Ventures at trivago focuses on monetizing the company's metasearch data by developing, launching, and selling innovative data products to B2B partners. As the Head of B2B Ventures, you will bring your entrepreneurialism and creativity to a multi-functional team to build a new business that has encouraging early product market fit, and be responsible for scaling it. We are looking for an experienced person who can bring a solid business acumen, deep technical understanding, and a start-up mindset to help grow our B2B Ventures business, lead the team in the right direction, and support them where needed to achieve jointly defined goals. How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop the vision and strategy for the B2B Ventures team
  • Test, iterate, and evolve our data products into a strong product-market fit for B2B ventures, and build an independent business case to scale accordingly
  • Harness and integrate product, marketing, sales, and technology to scale efficiently
  • Translate strategy into tangible OKRs to enable continuous discovery, improve existing data products, and extend product offering
  • Accelerate customer acquisition by developing existing data partnerships, pitching products to potential new clients, negotiating, and closing contracts
  • Ensure financial success of the business unit by taking full P&L responsibility, setting pricing strategies, and controlling operational expenditure
  • Build, lead and retain a team of 6, including software engineering, data science, and sales & account management
  • Ensure that roles and responsibilities are clear and individual value contributions support initiatives and team objectives
  • Lead with autonomy, innovation and creativity; inspire and empower your team to understand customer opportunities and how we can innovate to solve problems
  • Work closely with legal, finance, marketing departments, and other internal teams to maximize the potential of our data products
  • Present progress and challenges to trivago’s leadership team and ensure close alignment with the company’s overall strategic direction

What you'll need to thrive:

  • 7+ years of professional work experience
  • 2+ years experience in leading go-to-market teams for technology-focused solutions
  • A healthy risk appetite and ability to lead with significant autonomy
  • A pragmatic, value-oriented mindset to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
  • Executive-level communication skills and high levels of emotional intelligence and empathy, to lead with passion internally and build trust with customers externally
  • Cognitive and structural thinking, ability to zoom-in and out of projects to challenge solutions on multiple levels
  • Solid analytical capability and general technical understanding of API and data products
