Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Translation, proofreading and copywriting

· Translate, create, and proofread content for the Trip.com website and app from English to Japanese (user interface elements, flight/hotel policies, hotel/city descriptions, SEO content, promotional pages, banner ads, etc.)

· Communicate with the product, design, and marketing teams to ensure all Japanese copy is accurate and appropriate for Japanese market.

2. Team Management

· Manage a small team of ja-JP Language Specialists:

§ Ensure each of the ja-JP Language Specialists delivers their tasks on time and meets the minimum output levels required by the company.

§ Ensure the work of the ja-JP Language Specialists meets the expected quality levels, by performing quality checks and providing feedback and training.

· Regularly review and update the ja-JP language assets (glossary, Style Guide, translation tests etc.)

· Perform regular checks on our ja-JP online content and find and fix/report any quality issues.

· Act as contact point for the reporting of any problems in our ja-JP online content and work with the appropriate teams to fix the issues.

· Provide feedback on work submitted by freelance translators and vendors.

Requirements

• Native Japanese speaker with a strong grasp of English
• Minimum three years' relevant post-graduation work experience in translation
• Strong interpersonal skills


Desirable Qualifications/Experience
• Experience translating UI copy

• Experience working in an OTA or within the travel industry

• Experience managing a team

• Master's degree in translation

• Internet/tech savvy
