Job Description

Overview: Join and lead a new & rapidly growing paid media department that has scaled from $0 to $500k ARR in 6 months as the department's first Director of Paid Media.
In the first phase of this role, given the size of our paid media team (two), you'll be expected to get into the weeds and support our clients, ranging from $3k/mo in media spend to $200k/mo in media spend. You will have clients directly under your management until we reach enough direct reports for this position to transition the Director out of client work and into Director duties.
As the department scales, your responsibilities will transition to a more formal Director role, where you'll be responsible for supporting strategic sales, creating documentation for the department, setting the direction, and building career development programs - with the option to stay on accounts, if desired. While we don't have a clear timeline for this, we believe it will occur within the coming year unless the department growth rate changes.
Candidates with travel-industry experience, particularly travel technology (online travel agencies, corporate travel management, etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply for this role.
Initial Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities will apply during the initial phase of this role, until enough paid media managers join the department to allow the Director to withdraw from direct client delivery.
  • The Paid Media Director is fully responsible for growth of client accounts under management and is partially compensated based on this number.
  • The Paid Media Director manages high-level campaign progress and client experiences.
  • The Paid Media Director creates client-specific advertising strategies and develops plans that utilize Propellic's offerings, guiding clients through the advertising process. This includes crafting quarterly and annual strategies for existing clients.
  • The Paid Media Director presents and explains campaign results to clients, answering their questions both during and outside of scheduled calls.
  • Support new business & closing

Responsibilities when Department Grows:
The following responsibilities will apply once the department grows enough to support the Paid Media Director withdrawing from direct client delivery and moving into a management position.
  • Maintain department gross margin target & retention target
  • Increase employee tenure and reduce turnover
  • Lead case-study development initiatives
  • Build career tracks & training programs
  • Support new business & closing
  • Lead hiring & recruitment for paid media
  • Develop processes & systems to support consistency & reliability across the department
  • Serve as a department thought leader
Qualifications:
  • Required: 6+ Years of Paid Media Experience (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads)
  • Required: 2+ years Experience with direct reports, preferably as a Paid Media Director at another agency
  • Required: Proven experience with campaign creation, optimization, and performance analysis
  • Required: 4+ Years of Client-Facing/Agency Advertising Experience
