As Director of Accounting, EMEA, your primary focus is running a smooth and sustainable monthly financial closing process. General accounting is your key strength, and you like to work in a highly organized manner with attention to detail. Our greater finance team is a group of highly motivated professionals and we support each other wherever needed. You fulfil a crucial role within our talented finance team and you report directly to the VP Corporate Controller.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the accounting and payroll teams (14 FTE) and actively develop, coach, and inspire your direct reports
• Managing the full month-end financial closing process and creation of supporting balance sheet and P&L reconciliations for all legal entities in US GAAP (12 entities). Fully own the EMEA/APAC Financials
• Managing the year-end financial closing process and oversee the annual audit processes for each entity
• Act as a main point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, or other related stakeholders internally within the business
• Oversee the payroll function ensuring on time payroll and all filing and regulatory obligations are fully met
• Ensure continuous quality control over daily financial transactions ensuring accurate and complete records at all times
• Continuously drive efficiency through automation and optimisation ensuring a sustainable accounting process
• Maintain internal controls by maintaining approval and authorization procedures wherever needed and documentation of business processes and accounting policies
• Collaborate closely with other members of the finance team, supporting them in FP&A, business control, procurement management, and strategic finance
• Responsible for all accounting matters within Navan EMEA/APAC

What We’re Looking For:

• Vast experience in Accounting, with 8+ years of people management experience
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Experience with accounting software, with a preference for those familiar with NetSuite
• Running a sustainable accounting process resulting in a smooth month-end close and accurate financial reporting is what you do best
• Passion for optimization accounting software, implementation of automation, and efficiency of processes
• Adept in managing compliance, tax, and internal controls under Local and US GAAP
• Attention to detail, strong planner, and structured approach
• Fluent in English and German
• A service mindset, you view the accounting team as a support function within the business
