About The Role

We’re seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team at Fora to advise on complex commercial issues, governance, corporate transactions and a variety of other issues, including data & privacy and global regulatory compliance. This is a strategic, hands-on role in a high-growth technology environment reporting to the General Counsel – an opportunity to shape scalable processes and partner with business leaders to support Fora’s continued success and further accelerate the growth of Fora globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor across our organization, partnering with teams like Business & International Ops, Travel Partners, Product, Advisor Experience & Finance.
  • Lead commercial contracting efforts by drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer contracts, partnerships, vendor agreements, SaaS/MSAs, marketing contracts, licensing agreements and NDAs.
  • Drive our corporate governance and compliance initiatives, ensuring we're operating effectively while adhering to applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Analyze user and product experiences from a legal perspective, advising on compliance, risk, and business trade-offs.
  • Develop and implement policies, playbooks, and legal templates to standardize and streamline operations.
  • Provide counsel on pre-litigation disputes, risk management, and escalation strategies.
  • Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting membership business models, travel and technology, and proactively advise stakeholders on implications.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and in-house legal department in a startup, technology or other dynamic environment
  • J.D. and admission in good standing in New York
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with experience across a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, vendor and partnerships agreements
  • Business-minded, with the ability to operate independently in ambiguity and exercise sound judgment, think creatively through complex issues, balance legal and business risk, and escalate appropriately
  • Clear, effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build trusted relationships
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, cross-functional workflows, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiastic with proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, resourcefulness and willingness to step in where needed to fill gaps
  • Drive continuous improvement of contract templates and playbooks in line with evolving business practices and legal frameworks
  • Ability to work in the U.S.
