Introduction to team
The SPX Content team sits within the Supply Partner Experience organization and focuses on building and evolving the content experiences that power our lodging supply. We own core product features in Partner Central and Vrbo Dash, including property amenities management, photos management, regulatory experiences, and room types and rate plans for both live and onboarding properties. Our mission is to ensure partners can easily create, manage, and optimize high‑quality property content so travelers get accurate, rich information and our supply performs at its best across Expedia Group brands.
In this role, you will
Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality software services and components, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling for scalable, resilient applications.
Write clean, performant, and secure code, applying solid engineering practices such as code reviews, unit/integration testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams to translate business and customer requirements into technical solutions that can be reused across multiple domains.
Diagnose and resolve complex defects and production issues, contributing to monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks that improve system reliability and availability.
Contribute to technical design discussions, documentation, and implementation plans, ensuring alignment with established architectural guidelines and engineering standards.
Work with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows, safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes and applying AI/ML concepts to real‑world product features where appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
5+ years of relevant professional experience
Proven experience owning the design, implementation, and quality of one or more services, components, or features, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling.
Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, TypeScript) and associated frameworks (Spring Boot, NodeJS), with solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented or functional design principles.
Good knowledge of database, including Relational DB (SQL Server, MySQL etc.) and NoSQL DB (e.g., Mongo DB).
Familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and evolving service architectures, including well‑structured APIs, robust data models, and integration patterns that operate reliably at scale.
Demonstrated ability to improve operational excellence through better observability, performance tuning, incident prevention, and post‑incident learning.
Track record of making data‑driven engineering decisions using metrics, experiments, and customer feedback to guide implementation and iteration.
Experience safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions in production systems to enhance customer experience, developer productivity, or business outcomes.
Hands‑on experience collaborating with other teams or domains to deliver cross‑service or cross‑platform solutions, including leveraging AI‑assisted development or testing tools to improve engineering efficiency.
