Our Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.
You’ll join a data-driven team that partners with stakeholders to solve meaningful business problems through analytics, experimentation, and clear communication. The team values curiosity, collaboration, reproducibility, and iterative delivery. You’ll work in an environment that encourages learning new modelling techniques, refining business questions, building scalable analytical solutions, and creating clear, impactful insights that help shape decision-making across the organisation.
In this role, you will:
Extract, combine, and prepare data from multiple sources, applying foundational statistics and experiment design (e.g., A/B testing, pre/post, causal impact) to answer business questions.
Write reproducible, efficient code (SQL, Python, R), contribute to basic data pipelines, apply data quality and query optimisation best practices, and document work in tools like GitHub or Confluence.
Create clear, inclusive visualisations and compelling data stories that highlight insights; incorporate feedback; and produce presentations, summaries, and technical documentation.
Leverage AI tools to automate recurring measurement and reporting, build scalable dashboards, and empower stakeholders to self-serve through training and clear guidance.
Break business problems into analytical tasks, propose appropriate approaches, show increasing independence, and collaborate transparently to meet deadlines and resolve issues.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, operations, and data science to frame business questions, translate them into analytical workstreams, and communicate trade-offs and recommendations via reproducible code, Git, and Confluence.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, deliver iteratively, evolve solutions based on insights, and communicate methods, caveats, and findings to varied audiences.
Experience and qualifications:
1–2+ years’ experience for Master’s graduates (in a scientific discipline), or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in a similar data analytics role or equivalent experience.
Proven ability to deliver data-driven insights that led to meaningful business impact, finding efficiencies through tools at your disposal.
Intermediate experience using R, Python, or SQL for analysing, transforming, and visualising large datasets.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, communication, influencing, and listening skills.
Solid grounding in statistics, exploratory analysis, and data visualisation for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated business acumen and ability to apply analytical thinking to real-world challenges.
