FinOps Coordinator, Cruise

Introduction to the Team:

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

As a member of the Accounting Team at Expedia Cruises, you will be responsible for supporting the operation and execution of transactional payments to, from and between cruise line suppliers and our Expedia Cruises franchise network, consistently ensuring financial accuracy by performing regular reconciliations of payments and receipts.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Accounting/Finance or related diploma/degree

  • Customer Service skills (e.g. stakeholder management, conflict resolution)

  • Initiative (e.g. proactiveness, problem solving, "go get what's next")

  • Time Management (e.g. prioritization, attendance, timeliness)

  • Attention to Detail (e.g. quality assurance, peer review)

  • Communication skills (e.g. verbal, non-verbal, written, listening)

  • Experience with Excel

  • Basic cruise or franchise industry knowledge preferred

In this role, you will:

  • Perform routine reconciliation of payments against supplier statements and internal records

  • Acquire basic knowledge of systems and databases by completing routine responsibilities

  • Assist in the completion of routine activities by using financial systems and technologies

  • Assist in the completion of basic quality review checks on data using assigned systems

  • Receive routine information requests and ensure information is accurately retrieved, formatted, and distributed to the requestor

  • Understand company policies related to confidential information and ensure all data privacy guidelines are followed when distributing financial and personal information

  • Use basic information management tools (e.g. online folder management system, paper/hard copy files) and system data queries, and follow prescribed processes to retrieve requested information

  • Utilize standard filing systems and processes to store information/files

  • Show an active interest in own work and suggests improvements to current ways of working

  • Demonstrate motivation and drive to perform tasks until personal goals are met and desired results are achieved

  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without being asked; independently drive work to completion with minimal instruction

  • Accurately keep track of details and deliverables

  • Assess the relative importance of tasks and activities assigned

  • Begin to apply judgment, with support, to make trade-offs on time and resource allocations when faced with competing demands

  • Utilize resources to complete tasks; tracks own efficiency using reports and tools

  • Begin to distinguish between activities and tasks that add differing levels of value; begins to determine potential improvements to impact quality

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset; double-checks accuracy of own output to ensure high quality delivery

  • Identify areas where efficiency and process improvement are needed within own work area

  • Support process improvement by implementing ideas and approaches presented to them

  • Investigate and apply existing, defined solutions to known issue types, based on process and data

  • Make independent decisions using available data points and following established guidelines and processes

  • Draw conclusions from data that is presented in predefined formats

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant professional experience

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, including conflict resolution

  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities, proactive and resourceful approach to work

  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently

  • High attention to detail, ensuring quality and accuracy through peer review and quality checks

  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with the cruise or franchise industry preferred

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $41,000.00 to $57,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $65,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
