Senior Director of Product Management, Air

Introduction to team:

The Product Team creates high-quality end-to-end experiences for travelers, partners, and Expedia Group. Our customer-first mindset focuses on developing products that encourage loyalty and repeat business from our travelers and partners. We partner closely with teams across Expedia Group to achieve growth and results for our customers and company.

We are looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the product organization responsible for the end‑to‑end flights shopping experience for our flagship global brand, Expedia.

This leader will own the vision, strategy, and execution for how millions of travelers search, compare, and buy flights on Expedia. You will transform both the customer experience and the product culture - raising the bar on craft, building a high‑performing team, and shaping how we use data, experimentation, and AI/ML to power global travel.

You will report into a VP of Product and partner closely with senior leaders across Technology, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and Supply to drive growth, profitability, and long‑term brand differentiation.

In this role, you will:

Set and Execute Product Vision

  • Own the long‑term product vision and strategy for Expedia’s flights shopping and air business, aligning it tightly to company and Traveler org goals.
  • Define a clear, data‑driven roadmap that improves end‑to‑end funnel performance (discovery, search, compare, select, checkout) across platforms and markets.
  • Champion the use of AI/ML and experimentation to personalize experiences, optimize relevance and pricing presentation, and unlock new business models.

Build and Lead a High‑Performing Product Organization

  • Lead and grow a multi‑layer product organization (PM leaders and ICs) responsible for multiple surfaces and capabilities across the flights funnel.
  • Build effective teams: Own product resourcing and operating model; ensure the right talent and structure are in place to deliver on the strategy at global scale.
  • Develop talent: Create systems that encourage PM growth and mobility; invest in coaching, feedback, and clear expectations by level; drive robust succession planning.
  • Act as a magnet for top talent, attracting and retaining industry‑leading product managers and leaders.

Drive Outcomes Through Operational Excellence

  • Set high standards for product execution: crisp problem framing, strong PRDs, clear success metrics, and disciplined prioritization.
  • Partner deeply with Engineering, Design, and Data Science to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions on time and within budget.
  • Simplify and standardize ways of working across teams to improve speed, quality, and cross‑team collaboration.

Shape Culture and Ways of Working

  • Model Expedia Group’s Values (Choose Fearlessly, Force Simplicity, Include Consciously, Trust Each Other, Go Get What’s Next) and Leadership Agreements (Include, Grow, Own) in daily leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and open conflict resolution, where teams are empowered to make decisions and own outcomes.
  • Champion experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement - celebrating bold bets and using data and post‑mortems to refine strategy.

Influence Across Expedia Group

  • Be the voice of flights shopping and air travelers in senior forums, influencing decisions on investment, platform strategy, and partner integrations.
  • Collaborate with other brands and platform teams to ensure Expedia’s air experience leverages and advances the broader EG tech, data, and content platform.
  • Represent the product vision externally as needed (partners, PR, industry events) to position Expedia as the leader in modern flight shopping.

Experience and qualifications:

  • 16+ years in product management or closely related fields; 7+ years leading product managers and product leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and align long-term vision for a portfolio of products
  • Deep product strategy and execution skills: ability to define a compelling vision and convert it into a focused, achievable roadmap.
  • Experience in travel, e-commerce, or related consumer-facing digital products
  • Strong business acumen and comfortable with P&L levers, forecasting, and trade‑offs between growth, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence across teams and seniority levels
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams
  • Superior communication skills, including the ability to present to and influence executive audiences
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
