Expedia Group Activities Shopping Experience team is building outstanding experiences for travelers to plan, shop and book activities for their trip.

Our team is looking for someone who will drive the innovation and scale of Activities business. Your role is to deliver a world-class suite of products & services that will delight our customers and suppliers, while crafting a working environment where top technical talent will thrive.

Team members in Activities are fully accountable for themselves, their teams, and project delivery in a fast-paced and high-reaching environment. We find creative ways to implement and give equal opportunity from ideas like Agile, Lean, Continuous Delivery and the Scientific Method in many aspects of leadership, management, delivery and operations.

In this role, you will:

• Architect, design, and create solutions on the web tier, server-side using Kotlin/Java
• Write optimal front-end code using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
• Write unit tests and automated integration tests
• Perform Code Reviews and ensure the team adheres to best practices
• Mentor junior software developers
• Investigate, debug, and resolve live site issues

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Proficient in modern CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks such as ReactJS.
• Experienced in API development and proficiency with object-oriented languages such as Java, Kotlin or Scala to build scalable and reliable services.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with TypeScript, Kotlin, GraphQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with React and Kotlin.
• Solid experience with agile project methodologies and working with distributed teams.
• Experience as a Clean Code practitioner committed to producing high-quality code.
• Able to work closely with and incorporate feedback from specialists and product owners.
• Strong customer focus, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
