Senior Software Development Engineer (C++ required)

Expedia Flights team is the traffic powerhouse for the Expedia Group and our Flights Shopping Platform is one of the largest in the world serving over 150 million queries a day and powering some of the strongest brands in the industry like Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity. As a Software Development Engineer within the Flights Search team, you will work with a dynamic group of product managers and engineers to deliver a sophisticated, next-generation customer service platform at enterprise scale. You will provide insight and hand’s on engineering as we build an innovative suite of products and services, integrating seamlessly within our broad ecosystem. Come be a critical member of a growing team which is using the latest technology to enable an effortless customer experience across platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and test high-performance, highly scalable, and reliable server applications

  • Work closely with Architects and Product Managers to take technical ownership of critical flight search systems and services

  • Produce production quality code with consideration for the operational aspects of the platform such as performance tuning, monitoring, and fault-tolerance

  • Bring down the cost and time of delivery through ongoing improvements to our Continuous Delivery technologies and AWS Cloud deployments

  • Utilize developing AI technologies to enhance the teams' productivity.

  • Resolve issues found during testing or on live-site and deliver clear reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Software Development and Testing Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.

  • Excellent coding skills in C++ and experience working in large C++ codebases

  • Experience working in a cloud or virtual environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Expertise with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).

  • Experience applying a DevOps approach to software development.

  • Advanced knowledge of programming concepts, methodologies, and testing techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a passion for technology, and strong communication skills.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
