Data Scientist III, Commercial Operations Analytics
At Expedia Group, Data and Analytics are the core of all our strategy and decisions, responsible for the impactful insights that guide and optimize our global sales performance.
Our team helps the Commercial Operations organization drive transformational projects across the Sales organization. By joining our team as a Data Scientist III, Operations Optimization, you will put your problem-solving skills to the challenge and contribute to enhancing the Account Management space at Expedia Group.
In this role, you will drive operational excellence for Account Management by delivering actionable insights and dashboards that enable Account Managers to make better strategic and tactical decisions and hold more effective conversations with partners.
To achieve this, you will build a relationship of trust with stakeholders across Competitive Intelligence, Account Management, Commercial Operations,, Machine Learning Science, and Product & Tech; and will have the opportunity to produce and deliver insights to commercial leaders.
In this role, you will:
Engage broadly and proactively with the organization to identify and prioritize challenges arising in the lodging area
Use your creativity and commercial acumen to frame business challenges as analytical problems and apply problem-solving techniques to break them down into concrete analytical tasks
Extract data from multiple data sources and combine them into the required datasets
Apply analytics techniques to deliver insights supporting decision-making of account management stakeholders
Articulate confidently decision-making rationale, methodology, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical partners, using clear and compelling storytelling in presentations
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Preferred: 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering insights that drive business impact
Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Python or R is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to frame complex business problems as analytical tasks
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including VP+
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with statistical techniques, hypothesis testing, and performance measurement frameworks is a plus
