Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to work as an Individual Contributor in our Accounting Department. This role is critical in supporting the accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance of our financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and the ability to manage complex reporting processes in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the company’s financial and management accounting policies, procedures, and systems through the completion of Quarterly, Annual, and ad-hoc Financial Close tasks, including transactional memos, GAAP checklist, presentations, policies & procedures, etc., which are clear, concise, and organized.

  • Be responsible and have a depth of knowledge of the accounting principles for one or more disciplines (e.g., GAAP, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Revenue) within the organization by correctly and clearly answering routine questions within the discipline on behalf of the Accounting Department.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of regulatory requirements and financial accounting standards (e.g., ASC, SEC).

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

  • Apply a deep understanding of the policies, practices, trends, and information that impact the organization and its customers to anticipate and plan for each step of a project as the Accounting Department representative.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the financial impact of decisions/solutions and how own role contributes to positive outcomes.

  • Develop a broad knowledge base of systems and databases through experience, completing routine to complex responsibilities, and performing analysis.

  • Use various financial systems and technologies for creating reports and conducting analysis.

  • Identify processes, activities, and tasks that do not add value; suggests improvements that impact the quality of products, services, and processes.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent experience preferred

  • Public Accounting experience or industry experience with progressive high technology industry leader a plus

  • Experience with US GAAP Accounting in a U.S. multinational environment is a plus

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $177,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
