We are an entrepreneurial start-up operating in the B2B market within the world's biggest travel company. We build the tools and technology that help millions of travelers find the perfect hotels for their next trips. We are the largest and fastest-growing travel affiliate network, working with over 10,000 partners in 33 countries to turn their web traffic into hotel bookings and loyal customers.
The Data Scientist II (Revenue Optimization - Strategy) is an exciting role within our B2B Analytics Team. This person will primarily be responsible for collaborating with commercial stakeholders and Machine Learning teams to design Revenue Optimization initiatives that enhance competitiveness and accelerate revenue growth for Expedia's multi-billion-dollar B2B business. Key responsibilities include careful analysis of elasticity curves to understand implications of Revenue Optimization actions, deep understanding of the impact that our algorithms have on the business, and translate stakeholders’ needs to technical requirements. This person will work in a small but extremely impactful team, in charge of advising C-level leaders on Revenue Optimization strategy and tactics.
In this role, you will:
Extract and combine data from multiple sources to support model building and analytics.
Work with commercial stakeholders and Machine Learning teams to design and implement tactical actions that boost both our top- and bottom-line.
Collaborate with stakeholders to iteratively refine project scope and deliverables.
Analyze elasticity curves to take actions aimed at optimizing our partners’ performance
Continuously learn and apply new Data Science approaches to improve project outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications:
You are a critical thinker with a curious mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
You are proficient in SQL and Python, with good knowledge of probability and statistics.
You are experienced in communicating with both technical and non-technical teams.
You are someone who values respectful challenge, open feedback, and continuous learning.
You have experience in fields such as real time bidding or price optimization
You are educated to degree level (3+ years for Bachelors/Masters or 1+ year for PhDs) with hands-on experience in Data Science or Analytics.
