Software Development Engineer III
Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.
Expedia's Lodging Booking Services team is seeking a highly motivated developer to own and develop highly scalable and reliable web services that forms the core booking engine behind hotel bookings! These services sit at the intersection of supply and demand, and are mission critical in allowing travellers to complete and service their bookings with Expedia. If you understand what it takes to build a robust, scalable, reliable and high-performance service, we want you to join our team!

Skilled in applying modern engineering principles to enhance existing systems.

Continuously learning and sharing new technical skills to elevate team effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience.
Master’s degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
Understands and applies software design principles, data structures, and design patterns.
Experience designing and developing APIs.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in at least 3 programming languages.
Maintained and supported 4+ production software projects.
Experience with bug fixing and performance monitoring in a production environment.
Leads code reviews and provides constructive feedback to fellow engineers.
Contributes to system-wide improvements and architectural efficiency.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
