At Expedia Group, our engineers develop solutions that touch millions of travelers every day across brands like Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Orbitz, and more. Our Lodging Search Experience team is a group of travel-loving makers building a cutting-edge lodging shopping platform using open-source technologies. We’re looking for a high-performing and influential Senior iOS Engineer who leads by example, mentors others, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

In this role you will:

  • Lead complex, multi-quarter projects with ambiguous requirements and drive them to successful completion.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide them through technical and career development.
  • Collaborate with tech leadership and cross-functional teams to define and deliver scalable mobile solutions.
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy high-quality iOS features using SwiftUI, Combine, RxSwift, and Cocoa frameworks.
  • Promote best-in-class mobile practices including UI/UX excellence, operational resilience, and platform-centric features.
  • Drive technical design end-to-end and contribute to architectural decisions across multiple projects.
  • Advocate for code quality through testing, monitoring, alerting, and tooling (e.g., linters, code coverage).
  • Analyze and optimize app performance using metrics and monitoring tools.
  • Translate product needs into clear engineering direction and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Contribute to the broader engineering community through blog posts, open-source contributions, or tech talks.
  • Act as a spokesperson for software design best practices and mobile product thinking.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in iOS development with SwiftUI, Combine, RxSwift, and Cocoa.
  • Formal mentorship experience with at least 3 individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading multiple long-term, multi-quarter projects in decentralized teams.
  • Familiarity with Android and/or web technologies.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to accelerate the development process.
  • Experience driving product and tech initiatives independently.
  • Deep understanding of testing, monitoring, and operational excellence in mobile environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to justify technology choices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
