Are you a software engineer who’s passionate about building high-impact tools and platforms that empower data-driven decision-making? Do you thrive at the intersection of software and data engineering, and want to make an impact by processing large amounts of data at scale? If so, we invite you to join the Marketing Data Engineering team as our next Software Engineer II.

Our MATCH & Taxonomy team focuses on collecting high volumes of data and organizing it for detailed measurement of marketing campaigns and capital allocation. We empower teams in Channel Management, Analytics, and Machine Learning Science with timely, accurate datasets that drive automated, data-informed decision-making at scale.

As a Software Engineer II, you’ll work closely with software and data engineers to build scalable backend services, automation frameworks, and tools that strengthen our data ecosystem.

In this role you will

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale batch and real-time applications in a cross-functional, geographically distributed team of Software and Data Engineers.

  • Help define and evolve software standards, patterns, and architecture for data-focused use cases across the team.

  • Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code using languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala, adhering to best practices including unit testing, CI/CD, observability, and code reviews.

  • Design and implement NoSQL database schemas using ScyllaDB or similar technologies.

  • Contribute to end-to-end project delivery in an agile development environment—from planning and implementation to deployment and post-launch support.

  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, reliability, and observability.

  • Tech Stack You’ll Work With: Java, Kotlin, Scala, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, AWS, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, SQL, REST, gRPC, Datadog, Power BI, Splunk, Collibra, etc.

Experience and qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience); or 0-2 years with a Master’s.

  • Experience building and maintaining systems or platforms in production environments—ideally with cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Proficient in modern programming languages (Java, Scala, Kotlin) with exposure to both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with stream processing (Kafka, Flink) or big data technologies (Spark, Hive, Airflow, Iceberg).

  • Understanding of API types, access patterns, and integration with other platforms.

  • Experience with automated testing (unit, functional, integration, performance).

  • Strong foundation in OOP concepts, data structures, and algorithms.

  • Expertise in debugging data pipelines, including log analysis, performance tuning, and error tracing.

  • Enjoy collaborating across disciplines, asking insightful questions, and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
