About the Role

Expedia Group is seeking an innovative and technically fluent Director, Creative Technology to lead the systems, tools, and automation that power our in-house creative organization. Sitting at the intersection of creativity, marketing, and technology, this role will be instrumental in scaling high-performance creative operations through the smart use of AI, automation, and creative workflow innovation.

Reporting into the VP of Creative Lab, you’ll lead the Creative Technology team and drive cross-functional partnerships that transform how we deliver creative—enabling greater speed, agility, and business impact. The Creative Technology team sits at the intersection of creative, marketing, and technology—architecting the systems and tools that enable our creative teams to deliver smarter, faster content powered by innovation.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Creative Tech Strategy
    Develop and execute a forward-looking roadmap of tools, workflows, and platforms that enable creative scale, performance, and innovation across the Creative Lab.

  • AI & Automation Enablement
    Build and implement AI-driven creative tools and systems that increase efficiency, improve personalization, and expand creative testing capacity.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner with creative, marketing, legal, operations, engineering and IT teams to align creative technology solutions with business needs and operational goals.

  • Scalability and Process Optimization
    Architect streamlined, tech-enabled creative processes and playbooks that drive consistency, repeatability, and quality across workflows.

  • Creative Technology Influence
    Approach, prioritize and solve problems from a systems perspective, comfortably using data to tell a story and influence teams and leaders at all levels.

  • Education & Change Management
    Lead internal education efforts and change management around AI use, automation, and creative tooling to ensure successful adoption and upskilling across teams.

  • Platform Assessment & Integration
    Evaluate and implement next-gen platforms such as eDAMs, generative creative tools, and workflow orchestration solutions.

  • Team Leadership
    Manage a growing team of creative technologists, AI specialists, and technical project managers. Foster a culture of curiosity, speed, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in creative technology, martech, or digital production roles—with 3+ years in a senior leadership capacity

  • Proven expertise in implementing AI and automation tools in a creative or marketing environment

  • Deep understanding of digital creative production workflows, asset management systems, and personalization platforms

  • Experience supporting high-volume, performance-oriented creative production environments

  • Track record of cross-functional leadership with marketing, product, engineering, and design teams

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, technical fluency, and a strong bias for innovation and action

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language

The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $197,000.00 to $275,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $315,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
