Job Description
The Global Workplace Services organization is looking for an experienced IT PM to be part of their Program Management team to drive increasingly complex technical projects requiring coordination within an organization. This team plans and manages the implementation of technology that enables Expedia Group’s global workforce to work from EG’s global offices, including service and corporate office locations. This role would also manage complex IT engineering projects that span both internal and external stakeholders. The Global Workplace Solutions team is committed to implementing technology solutions focusing on EG’s business needs, while making it easy for Expedians to do their jobs in a consistent, high-quality office environment.

The primary goal of a GWS IT Program Manager is to partner with the Real Estate function as well as other IT teams to plan and implement the technology and systems required to provide consistent office experience to EG’s global workforce.

You will do well in this role if:

  • You have 4+ years of experience in IT systems, in particular physical office technology including low voltage cabling and VTC technology

  • You have established a strong program management mindset and approach

  • You have a keen sense of project dynamics and how to continually tune and improve the project team's process to keep things running optimally

  • You are driven to create outstanding customer and partner experiences

  • You are good at understanding big problems and rallying a team to solve them

  • You recognize problems that you have the authority to solve but are also proactive in assisting with project issues outside of your control for both your projects but also the wider team's efforts

  • You proactively identify & mitigate risks to ensure success of the program

  • You understand servant leadership and have a growth mindset

  • You have successfully worked with engineering and/or suppliers to turn complex business requirements into clear and comprehensive designs or specifications

  • You have a track record of delivering projects on time, in budget and to the expected level of quality

Functional/Technical Skills

  • Develops project schedule, defines timeframe, and prioritizes tasks to achieve project milestones and deliver intended objectives

  • Identifies the type of resources required to support a project, and makes recommendations for specific people, technology, partners, etc

  • Monitors progress to meet project milestones, timelines, specifications and requirements.

  • Keeps relevant stakeholders informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule

  • Gains stakeholder trust by effectively addressing their concerns to further long-term interests

  • Helps customers explore and understand their wider business challenges in the context of the project/program

  • Builds understanding of current business processes, objectives and challenges to suggest solutions and improvements

  • Learns how to leverage knowledge of current business environment & objectives to guide program delivery and outcomes

  • On-going vendor management including regular reviews and performance management

  • Confirms comprehension and understanding of complex information (e.g., legal, operational risk, and regulatory data) and impact to the business by correctly and clearly answering routine questions

  • Cross team collaboration – engagement and management of multiple partner teams to enable execution of a successful project

  • Creates clear, concise and organized communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages)

  • Considers and understands the audience’s specific needs and comprehension level to determine the most appropriate message and delivery method, limiting or explaining technical language

  • Builds clear, concise and well-structured functional material (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages) and recommends improvements to existing material

  • Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners

  • Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
