Senior Account Manager, Insurance

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

We are looking for a strategic and accomplished senior account manager to drive our B2B externalization strategy for InsurTech, serving as a trusted advisor to our most valuable partnerships. You will manage and develop a segment of our portfolio of partnerships, building C-level relationships and optimizing programs while focusing on complex problem-solving. Your expertise will be instrumental in accelerating near and long-term business growth through the strategic development and execution of growth plans for our B2B business.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a segment of our partnership portfolio, acting as a trusted advisor to insurance and reinsurance partner organizations to enable InsurTech's ambitious B2B growth plans
  • Build positive relationships at all levels with insurance supply and reinsurance partners driving alignment to InsurTech goals and priorities unlocking B2B growth
  • Utilize knowledge of the organization’s model and operations to drive projects and analyses that support the organization’s mission
  • Take ownership of partner problems and challenges, leading and driving both internal and external solutions to optimize partnerships and unlock business value
  • Support contract negotiations and partner performance monitoring, where relevant
  • Explore new partner opportunities and leverage deep understanding of market dynamics to spot trends and influence partner decisions that drive superior business outcomes for B2B Insurtech business
  • Work collaboratively across a range of global internal teams including Product, Actuarial, Legal, Analytics, Finance, Customer Experience, and Development

Experience and qualifications:

  • You have a proven track record of thinking strategically, using sound business judgment, and driving exceptional business results with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex strategic growth plans
  • You naturally build relationships and possess expert-level interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to rapidly earn trust and establish yourself as a trusted advisor across diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • You negotiate creatively with the ability to think both "big picture" and operate in complex details, engaging in discussions that create maximum value and sustainability for all parties while moving others toward favorable positions through compelling rationale and expertise
  • You are biased toward action with a voracious get-it-done attitude, even in the face of ambiguity
  • You excel at driving organizational change through influence rather than authority, with the ability to move stakeholders toward strategic positions by communicating compelling rationales and building consensus across diverse groups with competing priorities
  • Passion for using structure, data, and creativity to drive better decision-making
  • Executive presence with gravitas and credibility to engage confidently with C-suite leaders, and senior executives, representing the organization with professionalism and strategic insights
  • You have 8+ years for Bachelor's degree or 6+ years for Master's degree of relevant work experience in an Insurtech or insurance environment with demonstrated expertise in account management, portfolio management, and/or management consulting. Understands the regulatory nuances of the complex insurance landscape
  • You demonstrate mastery in sales techniques, contract strategy development, commercial acumen with subject matter expertise in complex offerings and the ability to tailor solutions to meet unique Insurtech’s customer needs
  • Focus on execution, displaying superior discipline, attention to detail, organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment
  • Preferred: You have an MBA or advanced degree that complements your extensive industry experience

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $155,000.00 to $217,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
