Introduction to team

The Traveler Engagement and Loyalty team builds relationships with travelers, driving engagement and loyalty by providing value to them through ownership of the loyalty program, credit card/gift card, and targeted CRM.

The Director of CRM Data and Audiences will be responsible for the strategic technical direction, implementation, and continuous optimization of our global marketing data and segmentation systems. This role will collaborate closely with Product, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to align evolving business objectives with scalable data solutions that power personalized, high-impact marketing experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership for topics related to our Marketing Data Platforms, providing insights and recommendations to support evolving goals and business needs.

  • Be responsible for the technical global strategy and execution for marketing data and audience segmentation across Expedia Group’s portfolio of brands, to translate the Traveler Engagement teams needs into measurable business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics teams to co-design and implement scalable architectural solutions for audience and data pipelines tailored to business and end-user needs.

  • Own the Traveler Engagement team’s roadmap for marketing data infrastructure, specifically around Expedia Group’s use of Salesforce Data Cloud.

  • Define technical requirements needed to support solution implementations and act as expert advisor to our Product and Engineering teams for marketing operations and technology.

  • Support an environment of digital innovation and best practice, ensuring the use of technologies for the benefit of stakeholders and members.

  • Champion data governance, privacy compliance, and ethical data use in all marketing initiatives.

  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team of marketing data specialists.

Experience and qualifications:

  • You have 10+ years of experience in marketing data, analytics, or audience strategy, ideally in a global, matrixed organization.

  • You have proven leadership in building and scaling marketing data models, single customer views and audience segmentation strategies across digital channels.

  • You have expertise in marketing technology platforms (e.g., CDPs, DMPs, DSPs, CRM, analytics tools).

  • You have a strong understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and ethical data practices.

  • You are solutions-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, and have a proven track record of managing and delivering technical projects, including complex migrations.

  • You have an outstanding ability to think creatively and enjoy working on complex problems and excel at navigating ambiguity and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deeply understand and solve business challenges, synthesizing complex ideas into actionable recommendations.

  • You are a strategic negotiator with cross-functional partners and have a proven track record in being able to influence without authority.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are confident in presenting technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You thrive in high-impact, fast-paced, cross-functional environments and consistently drive impactful business outcomes while prioritizing customer experience in decision-making.

  • You have experience managing and developing high-performing teams.

  • You have a passion for travel and a curiosity for how data can enhance the customer journey.
