Introduction to Team
The Vice President, Loyalty role sits within the Membership & Engagement team within the Expedia Technology division, driven by three core pillars: Loyalty, Identity, and Messaging. This is a critical technology executive role responsible for leading the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of Expedia Group's global loyalty platform. You'll be at the center of our global platform transformation, leading a team of 200+ engineers geographically dispersed across several time zones and will help steer one of Expedia Group's most strategic and important growth engines.
This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious, innovative technology executive looking to build something transformative on a global scale. This is a role for a builder, not a maintainer.
In This Role, You Will:
Technology & Platform Leadership
Define and execute the end-to-end loyalty technology and platform strategy across Expedia Group's global brand portfolio
Lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable, cloud-native systems that enable real-time personalization and seamless loyalty integration
Ensure operational excellence across performance, availability, security, and reliability
Partner with Data Science, Product, and Marketing to build intelligent, insights-driven engagement systems
Talent and Organizational Leadership
Build, inspire, and scale a world-class engineering organization focused on innovation, accountability, and inclusion
Hire, develop, and retain top-tier talent while building strong succession plans
Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance across time zones and functions
Business and Strategic Influence
Operate with deep business and customer acumen, translating strategy into action that drives measurable results
Act as a key decision-maker in balancing competing priorities across functions, brands, and regions
Drive alignment and delivery across a matrixed organization, engaging executive stakeholders and championing shared success
Serve as a key member of the Membership & Engagement Leadership Team, contributing to company-wide strategy and leadership
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
15+ years of engineering experience along with 10+ years of management experience with at least 2+ years of managing a global team of 100+ employees
Experience leading the design and deployment of high-availability, high-throughput platforms in complex cloud environments
Experience building global loyalty, membership, or rewards programs at scale
Skilled in building and scaling high-performing global teams who can be hands-on technical when needed
