Introduction to team
We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise.
We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our Global Communications team within the Marketing organization. The Director of Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy, with a particular focus on executive positioning. This role is crucial in enhancing Expedia Group’s reputation and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
In this role you will:
Internal and External C-Suite Communications: Develop strategic communication plans for key members of the C-suite, ensuring clear and impactful messaging to both internal and external audiences. This includes coordination between internal and external teams to maintain consistent messaging, whether for speeches, presentations, media relations, or tailored content for LinkedIn etc. Work closely with the internal communications team to ensure seamless execution and alignment, enhancing executive visibility and thought leadership while supporting company objectives.
Integrated Corporate Communications Strategy: Align communication efforts with Expedia Group's business goals and brand vision, ensuring that both internal and external communications contribute to the overarching corporate strategy. By working closely with the internal communications team, we ensure a unified message across all channels, promoting consistency and clarity in communicating the company’s vision both internally and externally.
Advisory: Provide strategic counsel to the executive team on messaging, media relations, and public appearances, ensuring leadership is effectively represented. This includes working closely with the internal communications team to align messaging and execution across all communication channels, maintaining a cohesive narrative for both internal and external audiences.
Corporate Narratives and Thought Leadership: Build and position Expedia Group as an industry leader by developing strong, persuasive corporate narratives and thought leadership initiatives. Collaborate with internal communications to ensure that both internal and external communication strategies are aligned, amplifying the company’s voice and establishing its leadership in the industry.
Leadership Voice: Represent senior leadership through impactful storytelling that fosters trust and supports the company’s objectives. Work closely with the internal communications team to ensure that leadership's messages are consistent across internal and external communications, reflecting the company’s values and vision.
Speech Writing: Develop clear, concise, and impactful speeches for senior leaders on key business initiatives, industry trends, and corporate milestones. Ensure speeches reflect Expedia Group’s values, culture, and strategic goals, while also engaging audiences and inspiring confidence in the company's direction. Collaborate with the internal communications team on messaging and execution to ensure the speeches align with broader internal and external communications strategies.
Experience and qualifications:
12+ years of experience (10+ years for master’s degree holders) in corporate communications, with a strong background in media relations, executive communications, and public speaking.
At least 7 years in a leadership role, ideally within the travel, hospitality, or consumer brand space.
Proven ability to work with senior executives and navigate complex communication challenges.
Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
