Senior Financial Operations Coordinator
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.
This position is part of the Expedia Partner Services (EPS) Accounting Operations team, which has office representation in Springfield, MO (USA) and Madrid (Spain) and will be located in Madrid, Spain supporting our Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The Senior Financial Operations Coordinator role is responsible for certain Accounts Payable (AP) activities supporting the month-end closing process, the monthly marketing fee payment process, and assisting with daily email communication with partners, account managers, and other internal teams.
In this role, you will:
- Process contract terms and other supporting documents for marketing fees in Salesforce, Oracle, and Excel
- Research and respond to Account Manager questions in email and Salesforce about partner marketing fees
- Identify issues with marketing fee calculations, and support resolution
- Support month end closing duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Meet departmental expectations and timelines, and other duties as assigned
Experience and qualifications:
- 1 to 5 years of previous accounting and reconciliation experience preferred
- An associate degree in accounting or similar field; or equivalent experience in role
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Solid understanding of basic accounting, and the desire to pursue more relevant items such as contract reconciliation and data analysis
- Strong Excel skills and experience with other Microsoft products
- Must be a quick learner, self-motivated and a phenomenal teammate
- Positive attitude and career focused
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/PeopleSoft/Hyperion Planning), Business Objects, and Tableau a plus
- Good interpersonal skills and comfortable working across departmental and company boundaries with internal and external customers
- Great attention to detail, organized, efficient, and ability to multi-task
- Conscientious, flexible - thrives in a fast paced, changing environment with minimal direction
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills
Please note that this role is only available in the following location: Madrid, Spain; in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week. We are unable to offer relocation assistance for this role.
