Software Development Engineer II, Strategic Partnerships & Affiliates

Introduction to the team:

We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise.

The Software Development Engineer II will help our Strategic Partnerships & Affiliates (SPA) division build and maintain its critical owned marketing channels. From websites that speak to social creators to advanced email automations for our most successful affiliates, this role’s work is dedicated to our most valued partnerships – those between our brands and partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Engineer scalable, fault-tolerant websites and email automations for our branded partnerships, leveraging EG’s tech stack

  • Partner with Marketing teams and fellow engineers to innovate best-in-class solutions using design systems and UX/XD best practices

  • Develop outstanding and thoroughly tested code for our platform

  • Follow coding standards and engineering practices as agreed by the team

  • Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability, and outstanding quality

  • Drive architectural decisions on our systems and the integration with the platform

Who you are:

  • 2+ years as a software engineer, preferably in e-commerce

  • 2+ years of experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Familiarity with one or more front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue)

  • Familiarity with Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or another marketing automation software

  • Confident in driving technical discussions and decisions across functional teams and organizations

  • Excited to pick up, learn, and run with new technologies and frameworks such as Java Spring Boot and GraphQL

  • Experience or excited to pick up and learn developing backend services including: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Flink

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $112,000 to $156,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
