HR Operations Associate


Introduction to Team
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

The HR Operations Team Member supports the HR department in various administrative tasks, including employee accommodation, I-9 verification, providing excellent customer service to employees, and supporting cyclical and ad hoc projects. This role ensures smooth HR operations and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

In this role you will:
Workplace Accommodation Process Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers requesting accommodations.
  • Review accommodation requests, including medical documentation, and engage in the interactive process.
  • Identify and evaluate potential accommodations based on the employee's functional limitations and job requirements.
  • Collaborate with managers and HR Business Partners to implement approved accommodations.
  • Facilitate the interactive process between employees, managers, and accommodations lead to identify and implement appropriate accommodation for employees and communicate request determinations.
  • Coordinate with accommodation lead to provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical information and documentation related to accommodation requests.
  • Keep accurate records of accommodation requests and actions taken.
  • HR Knowledge Base management:
  • Contribute to the development and dissemination of HR Standard Operating Procedures with detailed and thorough understanding of the policy, process and compliance requirements.
  • Review employee facing information and share feedback to applicable teams and make updates, as appropriate, to ensure accurate and accessible information

I-9 Verification:

  • Complete and verify Form I-9 for all new hires to ensure employment eligibility.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of I-9 regulations and ensure compliance with federal laws.
  • Store completed I-9 forms securely and ensure they are accessible for audits.
  • Communicate with employees and managers to complete follow up and processing of all I-9 re-verifications to ensure ongoing eligibility and compliance.
  • Partner closely with lead on managing I9 vendor.

People Operations Caseworker:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees by addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly, professionally and confidentially.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for employees, ensuring their needs are met and their questions are answered.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to resolve employee issues and improve HR processes.

General HR Support:

  • Assist in onboarding new employees and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Support the generation of reporting and insights to identify trends and opportunities for process enhancements.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in HR compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of Form I-9 requirements and regulations.
  • Familiarity with ADA, PWFA, FMLA, and other state and federal leave and accommodation regulations is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation review.
  • Ability to think critically to identify and implement solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and most importantly – empathetically and with strong customer service mindset with employees

Please note that this role is only available in Seattle, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week. We are unable to offer relocation assistance for this role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
