Introduction to the team
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the Membership Growth and Profile team, who will play a key role in enabling teams to deliver faster and reduce time-to-market. This role involves extensive cross-team collaboration across multiple groups within Expedia Inc. Expedia Group is in the process of building a unified Travel Platform, with One Identity being a central component of this initiative. Your contributions will empower domains across Expedia Group, as well as our external partners, to securely access Expedia Group services. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with stakeholders across various organizations, driving the development of critical foundational capabilities essential for the success of the Travel Platform.
In this role, you will:
Builds strong working relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor by understanding their business challenges and aligning project outcomes with broader organizational goals
Drives end-to-end execution of complex technical projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and timeline adjustments to ensure successful delivery
Proactively identifies and mitigates risks, anticipating challenges before they arise and ensuring smooth execution across cross-functional teams
Breaks down complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, using tailored communication strategies to drive understanding and alignment
Facilitates collaboration among teams with diverse perspectives, ensuring priorities are aligned, dependencies are managed, and solutions are effectively developed
Evaluates existing processes and systems to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement strategies to optimize team efficiency and delivery outcomes
Leads teams through Agile and traditional methodologies, coaching on best practices like Extreme Programming and fostering a culture of collaboration and iterative improvement
Takes a holistic, systems-thinking approach to solving problems, analyzing connections between people, processes, and technology to implement effective and scalable solutions
Identifies and removes process bottlenecks, drives continuous improvement, and ensures teams remain adaptive to shifting priorities and challenges
Utilizes storytelling and persuasive communication techniques to confidently convey technical challenges, risks, and solutions to senior leadership, fostering trust and long-term collaboration
Experience and qualifications:
7+ years driving technical projects with software development teams in an agile environment
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
Strong Program Management skills including experience with Agile and Scrum Practices along with Code Development
Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional information (e.g., legal, data/metrics, and technical information) and is able to accurately answer relevant questions
Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners (Cross-brand Collaboration)
Experience tailoring communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively
Delivery of a minimum of 3-4 large, multi-functional programs
AWS/Cloud and Database knowledge is a plus
Experience with CI/CD framework and related tools, cloud computing, traffic management, and analysis, project management tools, web technologies and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
Experience collaborating with Developers, Technical Product Managers, UX Designers, Product Managers and other team members from broad cross-sections of the organization
Experience using tools like Jira and Confluence for agile project management and reporting
A Business or Finance degree would be a bonus.
Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
