Fraud & Risk Investigator I

The Booking Review Team, a vital component of Expedia Group's Product & Technology division, safeguards the platform from fraud and risk. This elite investigative unit meticulously examines potentially fraudulent or abusive transactions, assessing their risk to prevent losses and ensure a secure experience for all. Our investigators meticulously analyze individual bookings, leveraging available data to make critical decisions and uphold the integrity of our marketplace.
In this role, you will
- Help the team prevent fraud, providing a benefit to the company and our customers.
- Provide an in-depth analysis of transactions to evaluate the fraud or abuse risk involved.
- Assist in identification and reporting of bugs or issues impacting the team.
- Assist in standard SQL database queries to retrieve data and produce standardized reports.
- Analyze or assist with analysis of data and reports to identify new fraudulent activity.
- Continue to grow in skill and understanding of current fraud trends.
- Assist with or perform special projects in a timely manner, as requested.
- Continually monitor email/instant messaging channels for updates/changing priorities.
- Maintain or exceed required performance standards.
- Work a hybrid schedule to ensure proper and timely development, more timely and thorough communication, building critical relationships, and supporting team culture
Experience & Qualifications
- Fraud or compliance experience preferred, airline, or travel agency experience a plus.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and results-oriented approach.
- Actively demonstrates customer service, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Confidence in making instinctual decisions with little or no supervision.
- Enjoys working in dynamic and rapidly changing environments. Flexibility to adapt and able to handle multiple assignments while working independently.
- Abide strictly by the company data protection policies safeguarding confidential and personal information.
- Strong internet research, Microsoft Office, and overall PC skills; SQL experience a plus.
- Requires shiftwork, including weekends, non-business hours and holidays.
- May require more than 8 hours per day/40 hours per week; may be requested to work on non-scheduled days.

The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $39,000.00 to $54,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $62,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
