We are the Acquisition Marketing & Growth (AMG) team that plays a key role in shaping the first impressions of millions of travelers entering our ecosystem. We’re looking for a motivated, curious, and creative thinker to help us build and elevate the upper-funnel landing experience for customers.
As an integral member of the AMG team, you'll design and implement engaging entry points for users coming through a range of channels—including direct traffic, paid advertising, organic SEO, SEM, and social platforms. Our goal is to craft a contextual and personalized experience that draws customers in and supports them as they explore and find the perfect travel options within the Expedia ecosystem.
What you'll do:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of features across EG’s Landing Pages ecosystem.
Research, design, and implement modular and scalable software components, leveraging your understanding of the EG ecosystem and current industry trends.
Understand the business goals and constraints, and articulate the impact of technical decisions on outcomes.
Propose high-level and detailed architectures for sustainable, long-term solutions.
Provide high-level estimates and break down complex tasks into actionable steps.
Address architecture and technical challenges, enabling informed decision-making within the team.
Enhance observability, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure operational excellence.
Optimize existing solutions to close gaps and maintain high-quality standards.
Advocate for and implement software design best practices, including unit testing, programming for resiliency, and scalability.
Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and knowledge-sharing to support their growth.
Actively participate in or lead communities of practice, building expertise and fostering shared learning.
Stay current with industry trends, exploring and recommending innovative methods to solve problems.
Report on the status of difficult or high-level projects to local tech leadership via written or oral means. Ensure documentation is thorough and complete.
Document designs, best practices, and implemented solutions for team and organizational benefit.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Technical degree preferred, with hands-on project experience.
8+ years of experience for Bachelor's or 6+ years for Master's degree holders.
Proven experience leading the end-to-end design and implementation of at least three complex, multi-quarter projects.
Hands-on experience working in decentralized teams and mentoring at least three individuals.
Demonstrated contributions to the engineering community, such as blog posts, open-source contributions, or tech talks.
Proficient in backend technologies (Java, Kotlin, GraphQL/RESTful (API's)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Advanced skills in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing with tools like JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress, or Selenium.
Ability to design highly complex systems and guide cross-team integrations.
Advocate for best practices in software design and operational excellence.
Establish robust testing, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
Solve business problems by aligning team goals with organizational needs.
Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of shared knowledge.
Employ systems thinking to analyze issues and implement holistic, efficient solutions.
