We are the Acquisition Marketing & Growth (AMG) team that plays a key role in shaping the first impressions of millions of travelers entering our ecosystem. We’re looking for a motivated, curious, and creative thinker to help us build and elevate the upper-funnel landing experience for customers.

As an integral member of the AMG team, you'll design and implement engaging entry points for users coming through a range of channels—including direct traffic, paid advertising, organic SEO, SEM, and social platforms. Our goal is to craft a contextual and personalized experience that draws customers in and supports them as they explore and find the perfect travel options within the Expedia ecosystem.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and guide a team of 8-10 software engineers, mentoring them while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Build a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and iterative approaches to solving problems, while also advocating for performance, quality, and reliability in the technology.

  • Provide ongoing, real-time feedback that empowers engineers to hone their skills

  • Act as a bridge between cross-discipline partners (product, design, analytics) to translate high-level goals to clear and definitive engineering tasks, with estimates.

  • Tackle challenging problems with simple, scalable solutions, and drive a “test and learn” approach that promotes efficiency of delivery.

  • Create partnerships with technology teams and leads across the division to drive cohesive long-term solutions.

  • Engage with peers, and senior architects to evolve the technology stack you are responsible for.

  • Be accountable for setting technical operational goals, and team and individual goals based on organizational targets.

  • Stay informed of EG and industry wide technology trends that will enable you to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the existing technology stack.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise software, with specific experience in modern web technologies.

  • 3+ years of experience managing Backend, Frontend and Full stack developers.

  • Proven track record in recruiting, mentoring, and coaching an engineering team, with experience in performance management and career development.

  • Strong technical proficiency in software design principles and architecture, backed by analytical and critical thinking skills to solve technical challenges.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with

  • Front-end frameworks and libraries: Javascript/Typescript, React.js/Node.js

  • Server-side technologies: Java/Kotlin, Spring framework, RESTful services, API design

  • Cloud platform services and architecture

  • Skilled in iterative development, CI/CD practices

  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize decisions and tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills - able to translate between technical and business groups, and bring forward a vision or opinion.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and working in an agile environment.
