Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering, Delivery Platform

Are you looking to join a team that builds and manages foundational infrastructure and tools at a large scale? Are you passionate about stability, reliability, scalability, and availability? Are you seeking an environment where you can drive innovation and help provide application owning teams ship software in a seamless manner?

What you will do:

  • You will be a technology leader on the Edge Platform team, responsible for providing traffic management, routing and self service tooling to the Expedia developer community.

  • You will advocate for performance, quality and reliability and install best practices in your team in all parts of the dev lifecycle.

  • Create a positive work environment based on accountability and inclusiveness, in partnership with peers on the leadership team. Lead by example, mentor the team, and establish credibility through quality technical execution

  • Play a key role in the analysis, design, architecture, development and stability of EG’s Edge Platform.

  • Delivers and influences product roadmap, working in collaboration with product and other platform teams.

  • Manage and lead the product development lifecycle to reduce time to market, improve product quality and ensure product success.

  • Lead others in resolving technical issues in a timely manner; follow up with customers to ensure best possible experience for the platform users

  • Partner with the business to integrate new technologies into business solutions; create and communicate a vision of the technology requirements for the future state of the business

Who you are:

  • Someone who can make a startup team successful, with proven experience in leadership and team building across different locations

  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders within the business

  • 8+ years software development experience in enterprise software

  • The utmost passion for both technology and leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Experience in delivering end to end software services

  • Good experience with programming languages and best practices for web development

  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS)

  • Expertise in agile software development methodologies and their adoption within teams, with a focus on resiliency and automation

  • Excellent organizational skills - able to translate between technical and business group, bring forward a vision or opinion

  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize decisions and tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
