Workday Software Development Engineer II – Workday

The Expedia People Technology Team is looking for a Software Development Engineer with a focus on Workday Core HCM, Reporting and Security to support the Expedia Group Brands. As an engineer, your main responsibility will be to define and implement solutions using Workday and other applications within Expedia's technology landscape.

You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to the configuration, customization, and maintenance of Workday to meet Expedia’s global requirements.

This position combines expert-level proficiency in multiple Workday areas with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with Product Managers/ Technical Product Managers, turning broad business requirements into deliverable business technology tools, primarily in Workday, using RPA, other applications where applicable. The individual will also work with multi-functional teams to address system, interface, data, and vendor issues.

WHAT YOU WILL DO/ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Participate in the design, analysis, development, and deployment efforts for multiple application projects to solve complex global problems and enhancements.

  • Design, document, configure, and implement changes in Workday

  • Collaborating with Developers, Product managers, Technical Product managers and Production Support Engineers to implement technical requirements.

  • Creating runbooks for troubleshooting, recovery, and routine maintenance of in-house developed systems.

  • Collaborate with 3rd party companies that support native and custom Workday Integrations.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 5 plus years of experience in Workday, with proven expertise in contributing toward the blueprint, configuration, development, and implementation of Workday.

  • Excellent understanding and experience of working with Workday Core HCM, Business Process, Security, Reports, Dashboards, Encryption Standards, EIB.

  • Experience with RPA, web technologies and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

  • Experience with Agile and SDLC including Requirements Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, and Deployment.

  • Good knowledge of other functional areas within Workday.

Other skills:

  • Workday HCM Pro certification preferred but not required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor's in information science, computer science, business, or equivalent work experience.

  • Understanding of Agile project methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, required.

  • Some experience and understanding of Talent, Performance, Learning and Recruiting functional areas. ​
