As a member of DataTuner team, you will design and develop solutions that will allow pipelines across EG data platform to run optimally and save costs. The tools and solutions thus developed will allow you to work across EG with multiple teams across geographies and potentially contribute to data community inside and outside EG.

An established performer who consistently applies software and data engineering principles to business contexts, proactively identifies inefficiencies in existing systems, leads small, well-defined projects and supports complex projects.

Who you are:

• 4+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.

• Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience. Technical degree preferred.

• Built and maintained more than one data pipeline/data product in production environments (bug fixing, troubleshooting, monitoring, etc.).

• Displays strength in a couple of programming languages relevant to data Java/Scala and Python.

• Familiarity with spark and its internal with emphasis on various spark properties and their tuning.

• Applies organizational technology patterns effectively in their projects and makes recommendations on alternate options.

• Has hands-on experience working with large volumes of data including different patterns of data ingestion, processing (batch & real-time), movement, storage and access (for both internal and external to BU) and is able to make independent decisions within scope of project.

• Displays a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Has hands-on experience working with at least 1 cloud technology and its offerings within the data specialization.

• Understands and design moderately complex systems.

• Has some familiarity with some data modeling and schema design patterns.

• Tests, debugs and fixes issues within established SLAs.

• Designs software that is easily testable and observable.

• Strong knowledge of SQL/Mongo and/or related languages.

• Past experience working on data pipeline tuning and/or cost optimization is an advantage.
