Technical Product Manager II


An established performer who will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the product vision. The focus will be on innovating and evolving our offerings to address our customers' needs effectively, thereby reinforcing Expedia Group's position in the marketplace. In this role, an individual will cultivate and leverage collaborative relationships across varied teams to ensure our products not only meet market demands but also exceed them, solidifying our market leadership.

What you will do:

  • Crafts and edits components of the strategic vision for specific features in partnership with more senior PMs

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to tactically organize and manage the product backlog in Jira, aligning to key themes and milestones for the vision

  • Fluently translates technical requirements to non-technical audiences, and vice versa

  • Develops deeper AI/ML knowledge and brainstorms with technical teams to identify opportunities for AI/ML in product feature requirements

  • Communicates to the broader team why the chosen engineering design proposal will best meet product requirements

  • Considers business, legal, and financial constraints in product planning and execution

  • Creates business cases for products to enable prioritization; sets goals tied to financial results and leading indicators

  • Relates the product to EG’s broader strategy and proactively identifies opportunities to increase product success

  • Independently gathers and analyzes market data to identify trends and insights

  • Shapes product roadmap & backlog based on market and customer insights

  • Leverages advanced metrics to provide insight into product performance across market segments

  • Maps out customer journeys and personas leveraging customer data with guidance; identifies and documents Jobs To Be Done

  • Applies understanding of UX design patterns to recommend solutions to well-understood problems

  • Recommends and executes relevant methodologies to rapidly generate an MVP through product experiments and usability testing as appropriate

  • Recognizes when product metrics are outside desirable ranges and recommends strategies to improve performance

  • Leverages basic analytics tools to derive insights from existing datasets and product experiments

  • Proficient in data-collection, data management; develops clear and compelling data visualizations to drive cross-functional decision-making

  • Demonstrates strong prioritization skills, using a consistent & defensible framework; develops sound judgement in prioritization decisions

  • Writes detailed functional user stories based on requirements for owned products and features

  • Ensures appropriate backlog prioritization in day-to-day Agile ceremonies; performs iterative validation of work output to ensure quality

  • Actively engages with key stakeholders across the product team, establishing trust, respect, and credibility

  • Promotes inclusivity, respect, empathy, & cross-functional awareness across teams, fostering an environment that values diverse inputs & perspectives

  • Communicates clearly and concisely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; reads the room and pivots as required

  • Articulates the product vision and helps the team understand the "why" behind the requirements and strategy

Who you are:

  • 2+ years experience for Bachelor's degree or 0-2 years experience for Master's degree

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience

  • Agile practices
