Senior Social Media Specialist (Sydney)

Expedia Group is on the hunt for a Social Media Senior Specialist to join our ANZ social media team, with a mission to grow and nurture our community of travel lovers, making our content impossible to resist.

As part of the Global Social Media team, this role will support our objectives of building positive community engagement through owned social media channels and running the day-to-day posting, responding, engagement, and overall communication on our social channels. This position will manage content calendar development, content creation and distribution across multiple social platforms with a keen eye on community engagement to deliver best-in-class content marketing to our social audiences, and to ensure social metrics are met alongside business objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage Australia and New Zealand social media across different brands such as Wotif, Expedia, Stayz and Bookabach by working with the social media APAC team.
  • Develop social media content strategy and guidelines for storytelling that delights our social audiences.
  • Manage posts and engagement with travelers throughout our communities to drive positive engagement and build brand love. Manage social media campaigns by working with our agency partner.
  • Deliver impact and implement creative ideas within a fluid and fast paced environment. Work with content creators to create engaging content.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice. Proactively flag real-time conversation and trending opportunities that are on brand that are relevant to engage in.
  • Work with internal team to optimize paid ads.
  • Work on developing the community through listening and ongoing optimization of the community management process.
  • Work closely with other team functions such as Brand, PR, Influencer, Legal, Customer Marketing, Merchandising, Partnerships, and posting of a monthly content calendar.
  • Monitor social media channels for potential issues and flag to appropriate partners. Collaborate with global customer service operations to refine our crisis management monitoring and response protocols.
  • Manage reporting of all social media marketing efforts across active social channels to assure social goals are met along with business objectives.
  • Work with APAC social team to support region operations.
Who You Are:
  • 5+ years experience in social media (community management through various social platforms), marketing or communications role. Agency experience preferred.
  • Great understanding of social media analytics, tracking and social media monitoring tools (e.g. Sprinklr)
  • Strong project/campaign management skills
  • Deep understanding of ANZ social media landscape
  • Track record of social media management with top brands
  • Up-to-date with the latest developments in social media.
  • Self-guided; creative; responsible; energetic; eager to work with other departments and independently; has a desire to see measured results.
  • Experience in video content creation with basic design tools (e.g. Canva)
