Sr. Finance Analyst - Resource Center of Excellence (COE)

The Product and Technology (P&T) Finance team is seeking a self-driven, analytical problem-solver, and process-oriented Senior Finance Analyst to join the P&T Central Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and be part of the Resource Center of Excellence (COE) organization. The P&T Resource COE team manages the end-to-end financial planning of over $1.5B resource costs & 10,000 full-time employees and vendor/contractors globally for the Product and Technology organization, as well as $0.8M labor capitalization.

The Sr. Financial Analyst will drive decision support analysis and be a key part of the Resource COE team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Finance, the Sr. Financial Analyst will work cross functionally with Business Operations, HR, Accounting and Finance team members to enable solid business decisions through financial insight, meaningful analysis, and timely reporting. Success in this role will include driving process improvement, effective communication, understanding the business, and going to get what’s next.

What you'll do:

  • Support headcount management and approvals process.
  • Be sub-division Resource point of contact (POC), and a trusted advisor to the business and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop a shared understanding of business performance drivers and drive preparation of monthly forecast and annual planning
  • Distil complex financial data into impactful insights and effectively communicate to key stakeholders to facilitate decision making.
  • Create ad-hoc financial modelling, presentations and analyses for senior leadership
  • Deliver in-depth reporting, analysis and understanding of sub-division resource costs
  • Identify process gaps, offer viable and scalable solutions, and drive cross-departmental teamwork to implement those solutions
  • Be flexible in a dynamic work environment and be willing to do what it takes to help the team win


Who you are:

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis. Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced analytic, modeling, forecasting, and reporting skills
  • Driver-based business story-telling ability
  • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SQL, Oracle, Hyperion and Essbase preferred.
  • Results driven, highly motivated, and curious with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
  • Highly collaborative, ability to build and maintain close working relationships with teams across Expedia
  • Ability to work independently and think strategically
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Experience in travel, technology, or e-commerce businesses preferred

The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $61,500.00 to $86,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $98,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
