Data Scientist III- Product Analytics

This is a key role in experimentation science team working on experimental design, statistical modelling, and scientific approach to test & learn at Expedia Group. As a Data Scientist III, you will be a pivotal part in advancing experimentation practices and driving data informed decision making. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers and engineers to ensure best practices are followed to gain insights and learnings about our customers through experiments. What you’ll do:

• A high performing individual contributor who consistently applies and enhances the analytics capabilities, best practices and processes to solve complex business issues and identify opportunities

• Operates largely independently and shows ability to mentor more junior colleagues

• Contributes to the development of experimental designs and provide expertise and best practices on experimentation methodology that align with business objectives

• Performs advanced statistical analyses on experimental data to identify trends and derive actionable insights

• Works with data engineers to ensure best practices are implemented through experimentation platform

• Effectively communicates statistical findings and insights to stakeholders and collaborate with product development teams to integrate statistical insights into decision-making

• Contributes to the development and improvement of an experimentation framework that supports rigorous and scalable testing

Who you are:

• Ph.D. or Master's or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with 2-4 years work experience or 4+ years of experience in a comparable data analytics role with relevant experience

• Possesses significant experience in at least one major ML programming language (Python, Scala, etc.) and familiar with others

• Proven experience in designing and analyzing experiments

• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python.

• Strong knowledge of experimental design principles, statistical modelling, and hypothesis testing

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500 to $192,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
