Senior Full Stack Development Engineer
Expedia’s Conversation Platform Technology team is responsible for building accelerators, products and processes that power the Conversational Platform at Expedia Group. We are looking for a self-starter to help build the next generation of Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) solution.
If you have strong full-stack web development skills, enjoy building modern web-based UIs, and thrive in cross-functional environments, this team is the place for you. As a Senior Software Engineer, you propose, prototype, design and lead the implementation of various core components of the CCaaS platform in collaboration with our teams worldwide. As a senior member of the team, you will provide the thought leadership and technical expertise needed to overcome hard problems. By now, you would have built and supported critical components of products/platforms at scale.
What you'll do:
Build reusable component-based web UI architectures with modern frameworks (React, Redux, GraphQL, etc.)
Build backend services in a cloud-based microservices architecture using multiple technologies (Node, Kotlin, AWS, etc.)
Maintain cross-browser compatibility and resolve performance issues
Develop fast, scalable, highly available, and reliable web apps
Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
Collaborate with product leads, UX designers, information architects, and back-end engineers
Enthusiastically look for ways to make our customers' experiences better
Advocate for engineering excellence, excellent usability, and outstanding quality
Drive architectural decisions on our frontend and backend systems
Showcase your work on our tech blog and internal & external conferences
Mentor other engineers on the team
Who you are:
5+ years of experience leading technical designs, mentoring developers, and helping driving engineering maturity
Experience building full-stack applications with OO languages (Java, C#, Python, JS/TypeScript) and modern web technologies (React, Redux, GraphQL, Node, etc.)
Strong command of web standards, and cross-browser compatibility
Understand client-side performance and how to improve it
Write clean, maintainable code and follow established coding conventions
Work effectively and efficiently in distributed teams with different levels of expertise
Value continuous improvement and constantly look for opportunities to improve the team’s productivity
Strong attention to detail
Previous experience on large codebases
Bachelor in Science, Computer Science or any other related fields; or equivalent related professional experience
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $173,000 to $242,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
