Data Engineer III

A high performing individual contributor who mentors junior engineers. applies new data engineering principles to improve existing systems, and leads complex, well-defined projects. Your main responsibility will be working with the team and our customers/collaborators to analyze, define, design, and engineer Commerce Data Product’s needs, wants along with bringing innovation and raising the bar to best in class and beyond in a true Agile environment. You will help make sense of terabytes of Data while building, supporting and delivering batch data pipelines.

What you will do:

• Support and improve ETL based upon Informatica, SQL Server and Teradata Tech Stack.

• Identify and solve root cause of operational issues (e.g. data quality, critical process degradation).

• Develop a deep understanding of vast data sources and know-how to use data to tackle particular business problems.

• Investigate the platform architecture to understand current engineering gaps and opportunities to evolve our technology stack.

• Chip in to adopting cloud & serverless technologies and good design practices, while finding opportunities to simplify and scale.

• Embrace change, always open to replacing what you built yesterday with something better today

Who you are:

• Bachelor or Masters, of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 5+ years' experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse design/models, ETL/ ELT, reporting tools, and data security.

• Specialist in writing Complex SQL queries, analyzing voluminous data and completely comfortable digging into data through various means such as SQL or scripting.

• Professional in Databases (Teradata, SQL Server etc) and Database procedural languages (Teradata Utilities, Stored Procedures, etc.).

• Developed dashboards and scoreboards for detailed analysis using Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, Looker Etc.

• Good understanding of Big-Data eco-system and strong Data Engineering Fundamentals.

• Knowledge about applicable data privacy practices and laws around critical, personal, and secure information.

• Experience in programming language – Java/Python/Scala. Experience with building data platforms on cloud (AWS).

• Committed and passionate about delivering high-quality work.
