Expedia Group has an exciting opportunity to join its Global Indirect Tax Team as a Senior Analyst – U.S. Controversy & Planning. The Global Indirect Tax Team is part of the broader tax department and corporate finance at Expedia Group.
What you’ll do
Controversy – Prepare technical written and data driven responses to state occupancy, sales, use, property, and income tax audit requests and assist the with tax audit management
Legislative – Perform tax research, and support analysis of pending and newly enacted tax legislation, including making recommendations based on Expedia Group priorities and preparing requirements for compliance teams
Planning – Perform tax research and analysis for potential new business initiatives outlining tax impacts and considerations
Technology and Automation – Support the evolution of tax technology tools and technology enhancements
Controls and Process Transformation – Maintain and prepare audit process documentation and support ongoing audit process transformation while ensuring adherence to controls and policies
May also perform indirect tax project work as required on a variety of business advisory, financial reporting, and transactional tax data projects
Who you are
At least 3+ years of experience in tax with a corporate tax department or public accounting firm
Bachelor's or Master's in related field; or Equivalent related professional experience
JD or Masters in tax or accounting is a plus, but not required
Experience with U.S. sales tax or global occupancy tax preferred but not required
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and working with large data sets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working with confidential documents, communications, and analyses, and in the context of litigation
Strong tax research skills
Organized and attentive to detail
Knowledgeable in basic financial accounting and tax rules, regulations, and concepts and the ability to apply these concepts to various business scenarios
CPA license or actively working towards attainment is a plus, but not required
Works well independently and in a team environment
Self-starter and diligent problem solver

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
