As a Machine Learning Scientist, you'll be a key contributor, well-versed in applied machine learning methods, eager to apply your knowledge to real-world data with excellent tech mentorship. Your responsibilities will include building end-to-end scalable machine-learning-based solutions that significantly impact revenue. You will be the linchpin in cross-functional partnerships with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams, serving as the resident expert on data science methods. Your expertise will drive algorithm performance, manage bidding operations, and influence senior leadership for positive outcomes, ultimately guiding the channel to improve company revenue, reduce costs, increase customer engagement, and enhance brand value.

What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to the development of bidding algorithms, attribution models, ads content optimization, and optimize capital allocation for paid app, social, and new channels

  • Develop end-to-end data-driven solutions using a spectrum of machine learning techniques, including supervised, unsupervised, clustering, NLP, computer vision, and ranking techniques

  • Mitigate algorithm risks, evaluate methods, and refine data pipelines for smarter signal processing

  • Utilize statistical methods for data-driven decision-making and manipulation of large datasets for business insights

  • Detect changes in key market forces and apply analytics to present tangible business problems and actions

  • Communicate complex analytical topics to multiple partners and senior leadership, fostering cross-functional collaboration

  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of operational issues, automating processes for improved productivity

  • Collaborate with partners, product, and technical teams to contribute to the development of tools and products

  • Actively participate in testing and experimentation to enhance overall performance

Who you are:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in data science and machine learning

  • Master’s in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent experience

  • Strong object-oriented programming skills in Python (hands-on experience is a must)

  • Hands-on experience in SQL (Pyspark preferred, our code base is based on Pyspark)

  • Applied experience with data mining, clustering, regression models, predictive modeling, and optimization

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in scripting

  • Familiarity with different testing methods (A/B OLS regression, t-test, Bayesian testing, Difference in Difference testing, look-alike testing, etc.)

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
