Content Strategist

Are you a versatile content strategist or SEO specialist who is passionate about delivering exceptional content and providing innovative content ideas? Do you want to use your skills to help people go places? Let's talk about this opportunity to join a creative, tenacious team that executes beyond the scope of traditional SEO and digital content! Expedia currently have roles open in our SEO team for content streams focused on Editorial content, as well as Landing page content with at scale-solutions.

As part of the Expedia Group SEO team, you'll collaborate across several fields (SEO, UX, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Localization and more) to coordinate the creation of useful and cohesive landing page content for brands such as Expedia, Vrbo, and Hotels.com. You'll define content that helps travelers get the right information and make decisions, as well as content that is successful in a search engine environment. As a strategist, you'll be creating content solutions based on your data-led research and innovative thinking, while coordinating directly with partners for content creation. You’ll work across a wide variety of landing pages and product experiences for Expedia Group brands globally and be involved in content projects from the ideation and research stage to reviewing it live on page. You'll also play an integral role in our SEO content strategy to create impactful content through editorial practices, smart solutions, savvy SEO knowledge and forward-thinking approaches.

What you'll do:

  • Supervise content creation by drafting content briefs, coordinate with partners and publish engaging and optimized content

  • Create content guidelines, participate in feedback loops and review content on live site to ensure high-quality and impactful content products

  • Perform SEO and content research, including competitor analysis, keyword research, gap analysis and content ideation to uncover opportunities for growth

  • Support the team's data-driven framework, coordinate testing and analyzing performance to inform decisions

  • Collaborate with the content team and the wider SEO team to develop and roll out content solutions in line with our comprehensive SEO strategies

  • Conduct regular SEO audits to identify opportunities for improvement and implement necessary changes

  • Communicate with teams inside and outside of SEO on shared goals

  • Stay updated on industry trends, search engine algorithms, and best practices to inform content strategies

  • Share ideas and feedback to improve processes, strategies and execution

Who you are:

  • While we recognize that there is not only one path to becoming an excellent SEO Content Strategist, we are looking for:

  • 2 years’ experience in SEO, digital content management or content strategy

  • A good understanding of the principles behind organic search optimization

  • Experience in authoring or editing content for landing pages with a phenomenal eye for detail

  • Excellent communicator

  • Experience performing keyword research using SEO tools

  • Experience working with Content Management Systems

  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities

  • Preferable to have a good understanding of writing for global users

  • Interest in SEO and landing page content strategy; you aren’t looking for a copywriting role

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, etc)

  • A passion for new technology and digital trends
