Software Development Engineer III

Looking for a candidate with Functional expertise in Oracle EBS R12 to play a key role in designing solutions around financial processes. The work requires understanding of business processes and the expertise and ability to recommend well-reasoned ways of enhancing, re-architecting and improving technical solutions to support business requirements. The ideal candidate in this role will be a critical member of a growing team working with the business and the technology teams chartered with designing and improving the solution for our ever-growing business needs.

Financials system engineering team is dedicated to modernize Expedia’s finance platform capabilities to service the complex needs of our travel partners, customers, and suppliers. The team you will join plays a key role in providing simplistic solutions to the various complex challenges around the Procure to Pay processes. Primary charter for this team includes enhancing, re-architecting, and improving technical solutions to support various business requirements for the users of Expedia’s financial systems.

What you'll do:

  • Liaise with business stakeholders, product managers, program managers and developers to produce scalable, efficient and supportable solutions utilizing Oracle and related technologies and possess good integration knowledge

  • Good understanding of Accounting Standards and End to End Payables flow (Procure to Pay, Record to Report)

  • Review requirements and design documents to understand the current state of the design

  • Assess short-term and long-term trade-offs and make recommendations to the business and technology teams

  • Drive solutions to complex business problems and advocate for scalable solutions

  • Work with geographically diverse locations to provide solutions across the globe

  • Identify and advocate opportunities to improve current procedures, processes and systems

  • Support development and execution of roll-out strategies, cut-over/transition plans, end-user training and documentation

  • Provide support to our Oracle Financials user community by addressing system function anomalies, and end-user questions/issues

  • Empower end-users through instruction and functional knowledge transfer

  • Perform E2E testing

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Possess 4+ years of experience in enterprise software development in Oracle R12 Procure to Pay, gathering requirements, developing solutions, Implementations, Configuration and set up

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form
