What you will do:
The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks


As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. You will be the leading French legal counsel that forms part of an international team of lawyers each working both at global and domestic level.
You will be part of the Business Legal Team that advises in a wide range of matters related to:

  • The legal requirements of our consumer facing websites and apps including displays and content, end-to-end search and booking/purchase processes;
  • Terms and conditions for our website, products, promotions and contests;
  • Access to supplier content and inventory;
  • Brand protection and intellectual property portfolio management; and
  • Regulatory investigations and processes, and commercial litigation.


You will be in charge of:

  • Advise on current consumer law and the application of same across our websites in our products, content and services;
  • Draft, update and maintain terms and conditions of our websites/apps and our products and services;
  • Manage processes and dialogues with the relevant authorities;
  • Conduct legal research on specific issues and provide clear and concise analyses to support decision-making
  • Communicate with external parties, including suppliers and partners, to negotiate contracts, contributing to the successful resolution of contractual matters.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations impacting the travel and technology industries.
  • Work together with our Procurement Team to maintain an organized and accessible repository of contracts and related documentation.
  • Participate in the creation, development and enhancement of internal contractual processes.
  • Contribute to the knowledge database for the contracts team.
  • Prepare and review contract templates, the contract playbook, and other toolkits, communications, and training materials as needed.
  • Explore the integration of legal tech tools, AI and other innovative techniques, such as agile methodologies, to optimize the workflow and enhance the quality of work outcomes within the contract team.


What you need to succeed:

  • Law degree or equivalent with excellent academic credentials and be authorised to practice law in France;
  • Fluent in English (working language) and French. The candidate must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English and French, with the ability to draft complex legal texts in English;
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ professional experience practising as a lawyer in either a top class law firm or in-house with consumer law focus;
  • Significant experience in drafting Terms and Conditions and other key legal documentation including commercial agreements and documentation such as NDAs, MSAs, and partner and consultancy agreements;
  • Strong consumer law and GDPR/Privacy knowledge and experience is required, experience in the digital and/or travel industry an advantage but not essential;
  • Experience in managing intellectual property portfolios;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with strict attention to detail and the ability to manage projects and priorities;
  • Strong work ethic and organisational skills with the desire and motivation to design and implement streamlined procedures and workflows.
  • Versatility is essential as you will be asked to assist in a wide range of matters.
