About Acai Travel

Acai Travel is rebuilding the foundations of travel operations with agentic AI. We build the post-booking servicing layer — fare rules, schedule changes, IRROPS, refunds, waivers, traveler comms — that today still runs on thousand-agent call centers at the world's largest airlines, OTAs, and TMCs. Our product turns those workflows into APIs, letting our customers operate faster, leaner, and with a fundamentally better traveler experience.

We're backed by Nauta Capital, Amadeus Ventures, and Draper (raised $5M and soon raising a Series A), with ~20 enterprise customers including Direct Travel, TravelPerk, Kiwi.com, Etraveli, Altour, Internova, and Lufthansa City Center. Acai is co-founded by Riccardo Vittoria, who previously built and sold 30SecondsToFly to American Express Global Business Travel, and Pavel Pratyush (ex-ManoMano, eBay).

We're a small, global team across New York, Barcelona, and Pune. We value an ego-less approach to problem-solving, deep technical curiosity, and a sense of "OK-ness" in all situations — we see hard problems as the most interesting part of the job.

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own AI Travel Agent end-to-end — Acai's core product that reasons over a PNR, applies airline and agency policy, and executes changes directly in the GDS (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport). This means owning the full post-booking servicing scope: exchanges, refunds, cancellations, disruptions, and traveler communications — as well as shaping what pre-booking looks like as we move in that direction.

This is the right role for a senior PM who has worked inside travel technology, understands how airline distribution actually works, and wants to apply that expertise to a product that's genuinely replacing how the industry operates. You'll be close to customers, close to engineering, and making real product decisions in a space where the underlying AI is moving faster than any roadmap.

You'll report to the Lead Product Manager and work alongside engineering and customer success leadership.

What You'll Do

Own AI Travel Agent end-to-end. Lead discovery, scoping, prioritization, and delivery across the full post-booking servicing stack — exchanges, refunds, cancellations, IRROPS, and traveler comms — with pre-booking on the near horizon.

Lead customer discovery and turn it into product. Spend time inside customer calls, kickoffs, and steering committees. Surface the operational workflows and commercial signals that become real product opportunities. Translate those into PRDs the engineering team can build with conviction.

Partner with engineering on AI product design. Help shape how our agentic systems handle ambiguity, when they escalate to humans, how we evaluate quality, and how products evolve when the underlying technology moves faster than the roadmap.

Write with precision. Drive alignment through clear written communication — PRDs, decision memos, API specs, kickoff docs — so the company stays in sync without needing to be in every meeting.

Drive cross-functional alignment. Partner day-to-day with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver outcomes, not just outputs.

Work smarter using AI. Leverage internal AI tools to connect the dots across documentation, KPIs, operational processes, and roadmap tracking, maximizing your leverage and keeping the team aligned with minimal friction.

Help define how product operates at Acai. Discovery, prioritization, delivery, feedback loops — we're early enough that these are still forming. You'll be helping build the playbook future product hires will use.

What We're Looking For

4+ years as a Product Manager at a B2B SaaS company, with a track record of shipping features end-to-end and moving real metrics.

Professional experience in travel tech or airline distribution. You have hands-on experience in travel, flights, or GDS-heavy domains. You understand airline distribution and pricing logic, how PNRs are structured, how fare rules govern exchanges and refunds, and what post-booking servicing workflows look like in practice. This is a requirement, not a preference.

Deep GDS fluency. You can engage credibly on Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport command logic, NDC vs. EDIFACT trade-offs, and the realities of schedule change and IRROPS handling. You don't need an engineer to translate the domain for you.

Technical range. You can read and write API specs, engage directly with backend engineers on integration and architecture decisions, and translate complex technical constraints into clear product trade-offs.

Strong written and verbal communication. You can write a tight PRD, a clear decision memo, and a customer-facing release note with equal precision. You move teams forward through ambiguity by being unambiguous yourself.

Customer-obsessed. You're energized by spending time with real users — listening, watching, and translating what you see into product decisions.

Bias toward shipping. You optimize for outcomes, not process. You know when to add structure and when to remove it.

Native-like in English. Spanish is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with PSS systems (Altea, Navitaire, Nevio, etc)

  • Experience with LLMs — prompting, evaluation, metrics

  • Experience building products with AI/ML components

  • Experience with Linear

Why Join Acai

A real category. Travel servicing is a multi-billion-dollar operational problem that AI is genuinely well-suited to solve. We're early, and the customers are real.

Customers from day one. ~20 enterprise customers, including some of the largest TMCs and OTAs in the world. Your product decisions go into production at scale.

Founders who've done it. Our team has built and exited in this space before, with the network and judgment that comes with it.

Real autonomy. Own AI Travel Agent end-to-end. No layers, no proxy work — your decisions ship.

A team that takes the work — and each other — seriously. Small, senior, global. Low ego, high standards, and a culture that prioritizes growth as a person, not just as an operator.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We have 13 languages, 9 nationalities, and many religions — a diverse global team by nature, not by design.

Compensation Range: €45K - €60K
